The People Scarer

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Logan was very excited about scaring people with his Halloween costume this year. This was a big change from last year, and I was excited thinking about all the terrible things he could dress up as.

(Like those little Umpa Lumpa guys from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Those things freak me out.)

He, of course, decided on Darth Vader. I knew it was going to be something to do with Star Wars or Batman. Those are his two obsessions right now.

We happened to be heading down to Portland that weekend for a wedding, so we were lucky enough to spend another Halloween with Bridget and her family. (We were also lucky because Uncle Andy and Aunt Lindsay came up from Utah for the wedding.) Jennifer was nice enough to take the kids trunk-or-treating at Bridget's church the night before Halloween. I didn't get any pictures of the kids that night, since the rest of the adults were at the wedding, but I made the kids dress up in their costumes the next morning before we left, so I could get a picture.

Bridget was missing a few pieces of her costume, but she was Sheriff Uniqua, from one of the Backyardigan episodes. Which, apparently, meant she carried a ping pong paddle.

I asked her if all sheriffs carried ping pong paddles. She just looked at me with a very serious face and said, "There is only one sheriff."

I just nodded and walked away.

You learn not to mess with that little girl.

We headed back home on Halloween, but stopped in Port Orchard first to do a little trick-or-treating with Jaxson and Sophie. I mean, Woody and Jessie.

Hmm... looks like one of Darth Vader's eyes turned into a nose.

I asked Sophie... I mean Jessie, how a Deputy stands and this is what I got.

Looks pretty good to me.

Logan got very excited whenever anyone would call him Darth Vader. One person even told him that he was very scary. He came back from that house with a huge smile on his face.

Success.

Really wonderful pictures Betsy. I love seeing the kids in their costumes. They are all so adorable. What fun for Logan.
