Hawaii - Day Four
Thursday, November 8, 2007
I better get to finishing my Hawaii posts, or I am going to start forgetting what we did there.
On Day Four Tom did not have any work stuff to do and so we had a full day planned. As we got ready to go, somewhat early that morning, we amazingly enough did not open up the curtains in our room. It was not until we headed out to the elevator that we noticed how very dark it looked outside. Uh oh. We pulled away the curtains and noticed that it was raining. Now, it had rained everyday since we had gotten there, but only for a few minutes and then it was bright and sunny again. This was different. The sky was dark and cloudy... no blue sky in sight. We left to get our car hoping that it would clear up soon... it did not.
That afternoon we had reservations to go on a Sailing Sunset Dinner Cruise up the Na Pali coast. We headed in that direction in the morning, stopping at some small towns along the way. We were going to grab lunch in one of the small towns, but we could only find a couple places to eat. One looked very questionable and the other was closed on Saturdays. So we headed back to a bigger town and grabbed some lunch there.
I was not looking forward to this Sailing experience because it was still raining. If we hadn't prepaid for it, I don't think we would have gone. We did go though and it was a lot of fun. It rained on us the first 30 minutes and the last 30 minutes. The rest of the 4 hours were sunny and clear. The Na Pali coast was beautiful. There aren't any roads that will take you there. You can only get to it by boat or helicopter. I wish I had gotten some better pictures, but there were so many people taking them that it was hard to get a good spot. I guess I need to be a little more pushy sometimes.
When we got back to our car we were so exhausted. It was only 6:30 pm and we had intentions of heading back to the hotel to change and going down to the beach, but we both fell asleep instead. I did not wake up until 9:00 am the next morning.
Edited to Add: I forgot to mention that when we were on our sailing adventure we saw some dolphins. It was pretty cool. They came right up the the boat and were swimming around us for a while. There was a mom and her little baby also... very cute.

You took some really amazing shots. My favorites are on Day 4 though.
