Flying Pumpkins

Last October Logan and I headed to a pumpkin patch in Sequim with Logan's friend Zephyr (sorry if I spelled that wrong, Carianna... and sorry if I spelled your name wrong also), his brother Bruno and their mom, Carianna.
It had a hay maze, big slide, baby pigs, chickens, pumpkins (of course) and... a huge pumpkin sling shot.
The boys had fun picking out pumpkins to take home. Carianna had a rule for her boys that if they could carry a pumpkin, then they could get it. I think she regretted that rule in the end, because it turns out that Zephyr has super human strength.
The highlight of the trip was definitely the pumpkin sling shot.
It was a little hard for them to pull the sling shot back all by themselves, at least if they wanted it to clear the fence in front of them. There was a barrel in a field in front of the sling shots. If you made a pumpkin into the barrel, then you won $100. We (the adults) tried to help the boys make it into the barrel a few times.
Once it was very clear that we were not going to make it into the barrel, we let the boys go at it by themselves.
Which usually ended in this...
But every once in a while ended in this...
I think I am going to construct a huge sling shot at my parent's house and see if I can shoot a pumpkin all the way over the trees and up the hill to the house of the guy who is always swearing and yelling at his kids.
It could happen.
