Battery Kinzie

I think I have already talked about the love Logan and I have for Fort Worden. If I haven't talked about it, well then let it be said now.

Logan and I love Fort Worden!

During one of our visits a month or so ago, we heard a lot of ruckus while we were walking to the light house and decided to check it out. We followed the noise and found Battery Kinzie, a concrete Endicott Period Battery (yes, I got that last part off of wikipedia). It was filled with a busload of high school kids and there was a lot of laughing, screaming and running around. Logan wanted to go check it out, but I decided that was something we needed to explore with Tom. Something about the pitch-black rooms and hallways inside did not sound appealing to me at that moment.

Anyway... we finally convinced Tom to go check it out with us last weekend.

First we ate Subway.

Then we ignored the warnings. We're not scared! (At least not now that Tom is with us.)

It is pretty cool. They left a little space between each room inside, which made narrow passageways that were completely dark. Luckily, Logan had his headlamp.

Logan had fun running around and checking out all of the different areas.

And dancing on top.

We might get a little bored up here sometimes, but it sure is a beautiful place to live.

I love Fort Worden, too! Although I thought the only reason why you go there is to go to those bunkers. (That's what I call them). We always played capture the flag in there.

That's what Tom said... that place would be perfect for capture the flag.

Logan and I go to Fort Worden mostly for the nice sandy beach and the big field where we fly his kite.

It is the best place! I love to go there. I was always too freaked out to do much exploring in the bunkers though.
