"Camping" at Mt. Hood

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

We went camping a couple weeks ago with Byron, Jennifer and Bridget.

Well, we were supposed to go camping, but last minute decided that renting a cabin would be much better. Much, much better.

The guys found one up near Mt. Hood.

It was nice.

I mean, I could have done without the scary, staring neighbors... and the busy road noise, but it was nice and we had fun.

We went fishing...

Logan caught the only fish that day. Too bad it was the only type of fish that we were NOT allowed to keep. Byron did catch a fish the next morning that he could keep.

We hiked up to a water fall...

We played in the snow...

We had to find snow.

While at a 4th of July party at Kari and Michael's house, Uncle Byron pointed out the "snowy mountain" to Logan and mentioned that we were camping on it. That is all Logan could talk about. "When are we going to the snowy mountain?"

We had to find snow... and we did.

This is the only picture of the cabin that I got.

I love camping, but I sure am glad we rented a cabin. It was nice being able to cook dinner over the fire, but eat it inside if the bugs were too bad. If dinner on the fire got a little too done, it was nice to be able to go find leftover Tortilla Soup (thanks Jennifer) in the fridge. It was also nice to be able to get a full night sleep in a comfortable bed. Logan does not do well in tents.

Don't worry... I have not sworn off camping all together.

I am all for camping... but the cabin sure was nice.

Yeah, it was very strange to be so hot and so cold at the same time. Your body was hot, but your hands were freezing from making snow balls.
