Mother's Day Swings

I had a good Mother's Day... because I have an awesome son. In fact, he has declared that every day in May is now Mother's Day.
It was so nice and sunny that after we started the morning (which included Logan giving me the card and chocolate Tom had taken him to pick out the day before), we headed to the park and played and played and played.
We actually started a tradition last year at this particular park. The first time we went there, Logan found this big stick that he wanted to take home. I told him that we weren't allowed to take things from parks, but that we could hide it somewhere and see if it was still there the next time we came.
So we did... and it was.
Every time we would leave the park, we would hide it in someplace new (after checking to see that no one was looking), and it has always been there when we went back to look for it.
Since we will be moving soon, I told Logan that we could bring the stick home with us this time. He got really excited, but then brought up the point that we weren't supposed to take things from the park.
Oh yeah, that's right.
It took a while, but I eventually (somehow) convinced Logan that it would be okay for us to take the stick. I am sure I taught him some rule breaking in the process, but oh well.
Anyway, back to Mother's Day.
I have written about this before, but it seems like every Mother's Day I get a new porch swing.
We move so much and the swing always seems to be the thing that gets left behind.
This Mother's Day we were actually selling a swing. As I said, we are moving, and won't have a place for it. We sold it on craigslist and the people buying it happened to be picking it up on Mother's Day. Logan was not happy about this. He didn't think it was fair that we had to sell it on Mother's Day. I thought he might start a protest about it and chain himself to the swing. Instead, while we waiting for the people to show up, we laid down on the swing together in the sunshine and enjoyed one last swing.
I promised him we would buy a new one as soon as we had a porch big enough.
