"Run Like Hell!"

That is what Tom did.

A while back he decided that he was going to run in the Portland 2009 "Run Like Hell!" race. (It was Halloween time and yes, costumes were allowed. Oh, and sorry for using the word Hell, Mom. I would have said "Run Like Heck," but that was the name of the kids' race and I didn't want to offend Tom.) It was his goal to run in the half marathon, but even with consistently waking up early to train, he did not quite have enough time to make it all the way. He ran in the 10k instead, and is still training for a half marathon later this year.

Good job Tom! Maybe at your next race, it won't be so early in the morning (and Logan won't have just broken his elbow the day before) and we will actually come see you cross the finish line.

They did have some free food at the finish line... chicken wings and beer... at 8:00 AM. Sorry no milkshakes, but the "Run Like Heck" was a half mile. I am sure the kids wouldn't mind if Mom joined in. Maybe next year.

Way to go Tom. That is so awesome. Honestly, I am so happy for you and can't wait for the half marathon. Keep us posted... we want to be there at the finish line! Wish we could talk Sammy into doing it with you this time, but you know what he says--running is bad for his knees :). He's a Godsey for sure!!!
