I hate being wrong.

I have been wrong a lot lately.
Logan and I were having a conversation about Super Why the other day in the car.
"...and there was a rainbow and they slid down it to the bottom!"
We have been talking about real and make believe lately, so I asked, "Do you think that was real or make believe?"
He quickly responded, "Real."
"Actually, buddy, you can't slide down rainbows in real life. It is fun to pretend that you can, but that is just make believe." I said as I crushed his little rainbow sliding dreams.
He was not convinced.
"You will have to watch it with me Mom. Then you will see that I am right and you are wrong."
Then after swimming the other day Logan blurted out, "You were wrong Mom."
"About what?"
"Stephanie (his swim teacher) said that if you get water in your eyes you are supposed to blink. You told me to wipe my eyes."
"Well, you can do both." I said, trying to defend myself.
"Stephanie said that it will hurt your eyes if you wipe them."
I thought that parents weren't supposed to be wrong until the teenage years.

Oh how I wish that were true. According to Madi, I've been wrong about EVERYTHING since she was about three. It's devastating! I used to go to her preschool teacher and ask her to talk about this or that, because Madi believed her and not me. Breaks your heart, doesn't it?
