The Coveted Booster

I have been waiting for years (three years to be exact) for the day when Logan can stop using the 5-point harness in his car seat and start using it as a booster seat instead. At his last check-up appointment I realized that he was only four little pounds away from that day. Only four little pounds!!! I could gain that in a week if I tried. Unfortunately four pounds is a lot more to Logan than it is to me. I weighed him the other day and he had lost a pound. Darn it! Do you think it would be bad if I started feeding him really fattening and sugary food for a while? Fatten him up a little? Maybe I could weigh him with layers and layers of clothes on and big chunky shoes. Would that count?

Interestingly enough Betsy, we tried both those tactics with Joey. Not to get him into his booster seat, but we tried to fatten him with high fat foods because he was so underweight (according to our pediatrician) and we tried the big shoes trick in Disneyland to try and get him tall enough for some of the rides. The fattening foods thing backfired and he ended up in the bathroom all day and losing weight! The big shoes thing almost worked, however, Tiff made Joey take a shower (which he fought) the night before going on the rides and his hair turned out really flat (after Tiff put a bunch of product in it) and he was shy of the height requirement by about 1/2 inch. The next day, however, once his hair was sufficiently messed up again, he made the mark! Crazy memories. The day will come soon enough when you wish you had the 5 point car seat back.... like when he is driving....
Ashlyn has been in a booster for a few months now. I found one for kids that are a little smaller that has a back to it. I didn't want to buy a second carseat because Austin outgrew the infant carrier. Anyways, it's great. Plus it's colder now, so all of Logan's clothes are probably four pounds.
I am with Brits, Gordon is in one too. He isn't big enough in weight he needs six more pounds. But He is way tall enough. His has a back on his too. Caleb who is 8 is suppose to be in one because he is small. But we aren't following that rule. IF we did, we would have 4 booster seats. IT is bad enough now with 3.
Hmm... you guys have given me some stuff to think about.
