MAX

(Sorry this picture is so horrible. I took it with my camera phone.)

Logan and I had a fun day today. We decided to go visit Tom at work. I told Logan that morning that we were going to take the train to visit daddy at work and that is all he could talk about. We took MAX (Metropolitan Area Express) because it is cheaper (and a lot more fun) than driving and parking in downtown Portland. While we were waiting for MAX to arrive, all Logan could do was stare into the tunnel with big eyes. He thought it was all so cool. When we got onto MAX this friendly lady behind us started talking to Logan. I told her we were going to visit his dad at work and she asked me what Tom does for a living. I never really know what to tell people now, but his new title is Manager of Marketing and Communications, so I told her he was in Marketing and Communications. She responded, "Oh, that's an easy job" and went on to tell me how hard it is to find work these days and that we should be thankful for what we have. I was pretty confused about all that because I thought that Tom had a good job, but hey maybe she was a CEO of some big cooperation or something. (Although I highly doubt that with all the missing teeth and what not.) Later on in the ride she was talking to Logan again (who was pretty much just staring at her silently) and she asked him if he was going to park cars when he was older like his daddy. OHHHHH. It all made sense then. I just smiled at her while Logan continued with the silent treatment.

We finally did make it to Tom's work though and chatted with everyone for a bit. Logan had a very intriguing conversation with Uncle Michael about all the construction going on downtown that they could see out his window. They both seemed very involved in it. After that we headed out to lunch to this Lebanese restaurant that Michael introduced Tom to called Habibi. It was really good and the owner was very, very nice. He went out of his way to talk to Logan and even made a little pizza for him for free. We headed back to MAX after that and were entertained the whole way home by some high school kids.

Fun day.

haha! I bet that's why you really moved to Portland! So Tom can park cars all day.

Yes, well we didn't want people to know. It is a lot less stressful than his old job though and Tom does love to drive.

Okay Betsy, I never comment, but I have to comment this time before Uncle Andy reads this blog. Habibi is actually one of Uncle Andy's finds and he introduced everyone else to it (or Lindsay's--not sure who found it first)... I'm sure Michael took all the credit... I think we can put the picture of Logan and the Fox Tower on our new website.... Tom, when you are not parking cars, think about it :-)

Thanks for clearing that up Kari. :) Thank you to Andy for finding Habibi (or Lindsay).
